Bezemkast.
Is jou huis ook zo'n onoverzichtelijke bende na drie weken chillen in de kerstvakantie? Of ben ik de enige hier...
.
Vanmorgen eerst maar es ons - kerstboompje in een pot- ontmanteld. De wijze koningen, liggen nu vredig naast Maria, Jozef, het Kind en de herders met hun dierenbende. Netjes opgeborgen tot we opnieuw de komst van het Kind mogen vieren.
.
De boom krijgt promotie en staat binnenkort in de zwarte aarde te groeien tot ie volgend jaar weer verder mag pronken, gevuld met onze verzameling ornamenten met een verhaal.
.
Wie weet wat er ons intussen te wachten staat?
.
En daarom begin ik maar bij die kast, mest 'm uit zet er pontificaal mijn favoriete stoel in en ga overladen aan gedachten, ideeën en gebrek aan schoon-maak-plan even rustig in de kast op adem komen.
.
Manlief bevalt het wel.
.
Mij ook trouwens.
.
Ik kom steeds weer terug bij die ene vraag: Hoe overleef ik hectiek, chaos en onrust? In mezelf en om me heen?
.
Een paar minuutjes in een bezemkast kunnen wonderen doen. Het licht valt door het sleutelgat naar binnen.

Icon made by Judith. De film “The Soloist” gaat over een dakloze man in Los Angeles. Hij heeft niets anders dan een oud winkelwagentje gevuld met rotzooi en een valse viool. Geen dag is hetzelfde en toch zijn de dagen gelijk. (see link in bio.)

Elke avond zoekt hij een plek op, in het portiek van een lege winkel in het hart van de miljoenenstad. Hij slaapt tussen het rumoer van het nachtleven. De politie komt voorbij. Er is standaard een relletje van het een of ander. Een ambulance haalt iemand op. Iemand leegt de inhoud van zijn maag een paar meter bij hem vandaan. Geen nacht is hetzelfde en toch zijn alle dagen gelijk.

Elke ochtend tilt hij zijn hoofd op, raapt zichzelf en zijn spulletjes bij elkaar, rolt de vuilniszak, die als matras dient op en begint aan de nieuwe dag. Elke avond vind hij een plek. Niets is hetzelfde.

En alles is hetzelfde: Hij heeft namelijk een prachtig avondritueel. Niet dat hij er woorden aan geeft. Hij doet het gewoon. Zoals hij dat als klein jongetje van zijn moeder heeft geleerd: Hij maakt zich klaar voor de nacht.

Ook al is het nu geen zacht warm bed in een veilig huis met een gezin om zich heen. Nu is het een plastic zak, maar hij rolt hem uit met aandacht en zorg. Hij legt zijn vermoeide hoofd neer. Moe van het zoeken naar eten, van het ontwijken van gevaar op straat, van het ontlopen van gezeik. Moe van het bedelen om een beetje geld om toch wat te eten.

Ook deze dag is voorbij. En hij praat met zijn niet Veranderende Vriend en zegt vlak voordat hij in slaap valt....

Het lukt me niet altijd om de tekst er goed in te krijgen. Foto's maken is leuk, maar downloaden, uploaden etc. is niet mijn kracht. Daar word een mens dol van en als ik 1 ding wil voeden tijdens het ontrollen van Mijn Levensregel is het: Rust en Ritme.

Daarom ga ik naar mijn eigen kleine hoekje op het wereldwijdeweb. Daar waar ik de weg weet.

How does it work?
The Rule of Life HOLD ON. is circular. You can start over every day. This is the Benedict way.
And Holistic: It pays attention to all areas of life.

Daily:
Hang a tiny list in (the kitchen, or where you brush your teeth;-) and put the letters HOLD ON. there with the first word on it.
Check them out in the morning.
.
Weekly:
HOLD ON.
H = Holy Ground. A good start. (Sunday)
O = Organize your time and give each day of the week a goal. (Monday)
L= No Procrastination. To work! (Tuesday)
D= Connection with others. (Wednesday)
O= Activity. Thinking about your body. Nutrition and Movement. (Thursday)
N= Sensitivity. Nurture your sensitive soul. Watch art, draw, make music. (Friday)
Period= The art of finishing. Sabbath. (Saturday)

De Levensregel HOUVAST is circular. Je mag elke dag opnieuw beginnen. Dat is in lijn met Benedictus.
En Holistisch: Het geeft aandacht aan alle levensgebieden.

Een Levensregel helpt je om in de hectiek van het leven orde aan te brengen.

In onze buitenland jaren voelde ik enorme druk: Wereldschool, taalstudie, community werk. Contacten met het thuisfront. Je huishouden, eten op tafel. En o ja: Ik heb ook nog een lijf dat wat aandacht kan gebruiken.

In die tijd is deze Levensregel geboren.

Misschien voel jij ook wel druk om veel ballen in de lucht te houden.

De Levensregel HOUVAST omvat alle levensdomeinen die je vanuit rust dagelijks en wekelijks aandacht geeft. Je herhaalt dat keer op keer en schrijft het uit op een dag en week planner. Daardoor leef je bewust.

The streets are silent.
The clock strikes five.
The words appear.
The river flows.

The first draft ideas are often written at 5 a.m. at the back of an old A5 envelope around the time that I need a break from my coughing.
.
The Fun Fact is that it just took a few days to get a feel with the number of words. I write freely till a certain point and think: “I’d better start counting” That’s usually around 70 words.
.
30 words left to write the climax. The Real Thing.
The only sentence that makes sense:

Ne: Dag 6. Hoe Gaat Het Met Jou?
.
Het is stil op straat.
De klok slaat vijf.
De woorden verschijnen.
De rivier stroomt.
.
De eerste conceptideeën worden om 5 uur 's ochtends op de achterkant van een oude A5-envelop geboren. Zo rond de tijd dat het hoesten de nachtrust teveel verstoord.
.
Misschien wel geinig om te weten dat ik na een paar dagen al gevoel kreeg bij het aantal woorden. Ik schrijf vrijuit tot een bepaald punt en denk dan: “Ik kan maar beter gaan tellen” Dat is meestal rond de 70 woorden.
.
Nog 30 woorden om de climax te schrijven.

Dag 5/100 Kijk nou toch naar dat eekhoorntje! (English below)

Door bezorgd te zijn is er tijdens de hele wereldgeschiedenis nog nooit een mens een centimetertje gegroeid.

De problemen door de crises rollen over elkaar heen. Het geeft wrijving, pijn en verwijdering tussen families en vrienden. Het kan ons zo gaan beheersen!

Toch is het van alle tijden en Jezus zegt in het evangelie van Mattheus: Kijk maar naar die vogeltjes (of eekhoorns.) Wie van jullie kan zich door zich zorgen te maken ook maar 1 el aan zijn lengte toedoen? (Mattheus 6: 26,27) Vind je het geen schatje?

Look at that squirrel!
Worrying has never made a person grow an inch in all of the history of the world.

The small and big problems roll over each other and pile up. It gives insomnia, pain, and friction between families and friends. It can control us and get under our skin.

Yet it is of all times and Jesus says in the Gospel of Matthew: Just look at those birds (or squirrels;-) Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?(Matthew 6:26,27) Isn't it a sweetheart?
